LUDO

 Ludo, derived from the indian game pachisi, is a board game for two to four players. In which each player has four tokens and players race their tokens from start to finishing point according to the rolls of one or two dice. It requires some skills like strategy, tactics, counting  and probability but some people believe luck matters more than any other skill.

In Pakistan, you will hardly find a family who hasn't atleast once sat down together to play this game as It has become an important part of our culture. Ludo is a healthy way of transitioning all your negative feelings, including anger and hatred, into the game rather than allowing them to overrule you which can result in chaos. Due to the importance of this game to the civilians of Pakistan, ludo has been widely promoted and has allowed simultaneous promotion of other games like chess and smakes and ladder as these games are usually on the back of ludo board and people play these too.

Pi social cafe located in karachi, formed following the opening of a board game cafe in mumbai india, is the first ever in pakistan which believes in bonding over games. It have been playing a significant role in promotion of several borad games including ludo and has dedicated a special area for it's customers to indulge in these respective games. Ludo championships are also held in islamabad annually. It is a project of Minerva that comprises of 4 quarterly Ludo Tournaments, leading to a Grand Annual Championship to determine the Grand Master of Ludo every year. Ludo has also been widely available online and in forms of applications on smart phones as well to encourage people to participate in this fantastic board game.As ludo has become a significant part of our society, all that the Pakistanis want is to let the dice roll.
